Introduction to Encryption

Encryption is not your run-of-the-mill dinner-table conversation; one seldom stands at the office water cooler and says "Hey! How about that new algorithm?" But it is something that everyone should be aware of, even if they choose never to look into it again.

Unfortunately it is neither straight forward nor self-explanatory, but, in the same way that one doesn't need to understand the inner workings of an engine to drive, one could use encryption every day without nutting out 50 pages of mathematics.

You don't have to be a secret agent or doing something illegal to get into encryption. It isn't even a life-changing decision to start.

This section of the site should grow until it is a one-stop shop for all of those who are starting out in encryption.

I must sincerely apologise for the appalling navigation of this part of the site; I am currently working on a centralised automated system that links everything so that one can quickly navigate from one encryption page to the next etc. etc. but that isn't close yet, unfortunately. Until then you'll just have to deal with it!
